- Use 1 pinch of hing/asafoetdia.

Instructions to make Dal tadka:
- Firstly take a pan and pour 1 tablespoon ghee and when the ghee gets heated then add jeera and when jeera starts poping then add ginger garlic and green chillies.
- When Ginger and garlic gets lightly brown add onion and mix it well and when onion gets translucent.
- Now here you need to add tomato and salt and mix it well until the tomatoes starts to leave it's water...and now after this you need to add turmeric powder and garam masala and mix it well.
- Now you need to add some water into the gravy and mix it well and then add to it the boiled toor and moong dal and mix it well by adding some water to it and bring it to a boil..
- Now lastly you need to take a tadka pan and add 1 tablespoon ghee and when the ghee gets heated you need to add to it hing and red chilli powder and when they get heated add this tadka into the dal.
- And now garnish with some chopped coriander leaves.
